Chris and Bill's induction was held on 20th October 2008. Present were RA/Squiremaster Chris Goninon and Rover Squires Owen Downes, Tracey Smith, Emile Victor and Matthew Ray.

Cumberland Gang Show

Emile and Matt, while in Sydney for World Youth Day, along with Saint John's Wood Venturer Bill Alexander and Albany Creek Squire Peter Crouch, saw Cumberland Gang Show. All were very impressed by the quality of the production and particularly enjoyed the Shamless Shakespearian Product Placement Sketch.

As part of a SJW group visit a number of the Crew visited Qld Parliment House .

Cooking / Beverages

Tracey organised the night. Gourmet pizzas cooked over an open fire. Some burned. Owen and Tracey had many personal jokes. Dirty cleaning up.

First Hard Business Meeting

Roventure (Brisbane / SE Qld)

Emile and Matt made it to BP Park, Samford, late and joined the 'Gladiator' activity base where Venturers were encouraged to bash each other with sponge pillows whilst sitting on a suspended log.

The activity ran most of the afternoon where we rotated responsibility with the Albany Creek Rovers.

Rovers Run Joey's

As part of the squire training, the Rovers ran Joey's for the evening. The main theme for the evening was compasses and maps. Some of the highlights of the evening included the compass point game, (including a Joey pile on on Owen), a map reading activity, and the Joey's learning about a GPS. (Matt, Emile, Owen and Chris "RA")

To assist with the all important recuting of new members, the crew ran a movie (and card night) night in the den. With 3 members and a lot of visitors the crew enjoyed a numebr of movies provided from Emile's collection, starting off with the Borne Identity. A good night that hopefully will lead to some new members.

Clean up den Evening -(and welcome Owen)

Tonight we spent some time continuing with the cleaning of the den. With the Crew in recess for so long, the amount of garage sale items multiplied significantly. By the end of the evening we had the den clean enough to make it look habitable for the movie night on Saturday.

We also inducted Owen.

Banana Bash 2008

Two members (and our RA) of the St John’s Wood Rover Crew recently attended the Banana Bash 2008, a get-together of many of Brisbane’s Rover Crews to pit their bash cars against each other in a number of races and challenges. At the moment our vehicle is not in a sufficient state to be raced, however we have recieved offers for bash-worthy vehicles.
We witnessed a crash of epic proportions, when Sunnybank’s vehicle (the red one shown below after the accident) fishtailed and slammed into a tree stump. Their rear (tubeless) wheel was pushed out of its rim, and they had to do a quick pit stop to get back to the finish line. For full gallery of images, visit the Banana Bash ‘08 Album. Rovers go Bowling

We've decided that we're going to have dinner tonight @ Naples Restaurant @ 6:30pm, then start Rovers @ 7:15pm. Bowling is at Milton Bowl @ 8pm. The evening was attended by a number of friends, with a short discussion about Rovering at the end of the bowling.

After four years the SJW Rover Crew is up and going again, with the induction of Matt and Emile. They also form the Crew executive with Matt as the Crew Leader and Emile the Treasurer.
